Daishinsha Group, founded in 1952, is celebrating its 70^th Anniversary this year with a variety of commemorative events. On June 24^th, we held an online event “SDGs Online Tour to Sweden, a Leading Sustainable Country” as a part of this celebration.

The project was developed in collaboration with One Planet Café, a Fair Trade Certified company based in Japan.

We invited our customers, partners, and employees to join the event as we connected with guide from One Planet Cafe in Sweden, which currently boasts the top rating in SDG achievement. On the day of the event, the weather gave us a beautiful sunny morning in Malmö, the first carbon-neutral district in Europe. We were able to learn about the city, the lives of its people, and their SDG initiatives such as buses run on biogas.

The event was valuable opportunity to hear and see firsthand about Sweden’s SDG initiatives and peoples’ thinking around them. It helped us to consider activities in a more familiar and “personal” way.

In Sweden, there is the culture of “FIKA” where people enjoy conversation with each other over tea and sweets. To experience this culture along with the session, a “FIKA” set selected by Daishinsha was delivered to attendees in advance. Approximately 180 people participated in this online tour, and we hope they were able to relax and enjoy the experience with their FIKA sets in hand.
